Rotary Student Host Needed, Hikeathon, and Vaccine Clinic

Exchange Student Host needed - Telluride Rotary has an urgent need to line up a host family ASAP, and two more families following that, for an inbound student who's coming to Telluride for the 2025-26 school year. He is a 16-year-old boy from Colombia. The timeline for securing his first host family unexpectedly moved up due to his appointment with their embassy to get his visa being moved up. He needs to have a family in place by June 18 to get his visa. Telluride Rotary may be able to line up a prior host family for a short-term stay, but still needs to line up three families for hosting, each taking a turn of about 2.5 to 3 months long. 
Please consider yourself or your friends for hosting; it's a rewarding experience for all involved. It is ideal to have a THS student living at the house but not necessary. Host families can be couples without kids, households with younger kids, a single person—really anyone who is willing to provide a home and help make a positive experience. Hikeathon donations to benefit Telluride Education Foundation - Please consider donating to the Telluride School Board team for the 2025 Telluride Rotary Hikeathon.  The Hikeathon will raise funds to support TSD students through TEF, as well as other youth and service projects.  BOE members Stephanie Hatcher, Jill O’Dell and Ryan Robinson and Superintendent John Pandolfo have joined together to form a team; funds that the team raises will benefit the Telluride Education Foundation, student scholarships, and other student causes.  You can donate to the team at the BOE Team Page (no donation is too small or large); the team is halfway to its goal and your donation could help reach that goal.  Also, if you are hiking anyway in June, you can sign up as an individual hiker or join a team, it is a great way to raise funds that benefit our students.

Vaccine Clinic - A state mobile bus will be in Telluride next Monday, 6/16 from 2-5:30p at the Fruen Building (335 W. Colorado Ave, Telluride). They will have childhood and adult vaccines (including Shingles) for insured and uninsured individuals.
